UKSE7ENS will be looking to make the 2011 Championship weekend the Europes biggest 7-a-side football festival. The important dates for your diary this year are Friday 17th - Sunday 19th June 2011.

The last 3 UKSE7ENS Championships have featured 43-60 mens and ladies teams. This year we are looking to accomodate upto 80 teams (~48 mens and 32 ladies), competing over 10 pitches during the weekend.

The Format
We will be using a similar format to previous years in that the qualifying rounds to determine which cup you will compete for will take place on the Saturday with the Sunday featuring mini qualification groups in the morning to determine which sides go through to the final knockout phases.

All teams will be drawn into groups of 6 for the saturday and will play each other once in 10 minute each way matches. At the completion of the group stage the top two in the mens section (top three in the ladies) qualify for the Champions Cup on the sunday, the teams that finish 3rd and 4th (or the bottom 3 in the ladies section) go into the Supplementary Cup and finally the bottom two in each of the men’s group will qualify for the Shield. This ensures that whatever you playing standard there will be something for you to compete for on the Sunday.

All sides are then redrawn into groups of 4 for Sunday. Again each team plays each other once in 10 minute each way matches and at the end of the group stage the top two progress to the quarter-finals of the competition they qualified for.

Sunday Afternoon then see’s the conclusion of the weekends activities with the completion of the knockout phases of the cups.

Friday and Saturday night entertainment

Most sides arrive in Newquay on the Friday ahead of the weekend’s activities. All sides meet up at Sailors Club Friday evening to receive their welcome packs and UK7's wristbands and check out the opposition. The UKSE7ENS opening night party then kicks in at Sailors. For those who want to go out elsewhere in Newquay and explore the sights, your UK7‘s wristband will get you into our other partner clubs free of charge and allow you to buy discounted drinks at out partner pubs.

After the first full days play, it’s party time. Last year’s Saturday night theme was neon rave, this year it is pub golf so get your golf gear packed to join the rest of the teams on the UK7‘s pub golf bar crawl of Newquay.
